The Cinderella Castle is often very colorful lighted during the evening hours (purple/pink, orange …). But I really prefer the clean white look. So I prepared my gear quickly when I saw the opportunity for this shot. Shortly before my brackets were finished, the fireworks began and I thought that the image was ruined. Now after processing I am quite happy with the result.

  • Tripod: Manfrotto MK294A3 with 496RC2 Ballhead


  • HDR made of of 5 exposures
  • 14mm, ISO100, f/22

  • OnOne Perfect Photo Suite 7.5


  • Exposure fusioned instead of tonemapping of the 5 images in Photomatix
  • Photoshop
    • Spot removal and manual blending of additional exposures (made in Lightroom) to remove some ghosting.
  • StylizedwithonOne Perfect Photo Suite 7
    • Presets “Tonal Contrast” and “Dark Glow”
  • Lightroom
    • Adjustments for: highlights / shadows / clarity / saturation
    • Some selective adjustments on the fireworks (exposure brush)
    • Post crop vignette
