Last year, while I was on my road trip through the USA, I participated for the first time in the “Scott Kelby – World Wide Photowalk”. This took place at the Surfers Point in Ventura, California, and was led by my friend Ray Diehr. By the way, he also organizes this year’s Photowalk and if someone is in the vicinity on October 7th, 2017, I can only recommend to register for this event.
Here are some pictures from the 2016 photowalk:
But why am I writing all this? Now that it was a really nice event, I applied to run a walk this year. Our Photowalk takes place in Münster (NRW) and will focus mainly on street and architectural photography. To participate, you have to register on the official website of the Scott Kelby – Photowalk.
Just click on the “Find a Walk” and enter “Münster” in the search field to get to the detail page of our photo walk.
The complete title of the walk is Street and architecture photography in the center of Münster.
Here are some more details about the event:
Where: We meet at the cathedral square, right next to the entrance to the cathedral.
Who: Welcome everyone who enjoys taking pictures or making videos. No matter what equipment you have (one smartphone is sufficient) and at what age. There is a separate youth competition so that the whole family can participate.
Short procedure: The weekly market takes place directly at the meeting point on Saturday, which may already offer one or two motifs for the street photographers. From there we travel along modern and historic buildings through the inner city/pedestrian precinct.
Destination: Our Photowalk ends at Café/Bar Pension Schmidt, Alter Steinweg 37 48143 Münster. Here we let the morning end in a cozy atmosphere.
- Since the possibility to park directly at the Domplatz is very limited, here is a link to the parking space in Münster: Parking in Münster (incl. number of currently available spaces)
- As a bonus, there is also a competition, about whose rules and prices you can find out more here.
I would be pleased to meet you and get to know you, see you soon
